Established in 1978, Pros Arts was a Pilsen-based collective that offered free, eclectic artistic workshops and performances to Chicago’s streets, parks, community centers, and local K-12 schools. Nine contemporary artists were invited to develop new work that responds to the ensemble’s archive, invoking aspects of their ethos, including longevity, memory, improvisation, ephemerality, silliness, and joy. An outgrowth of Learning Together: Art Education and Community.
