Established in 1978, Pros Arts was a Pilsen-based collective that offered free, eclectic artistic workshops and performances to Chicago’s streets, parks, community centers, and local K-12 schools. Nine contemporary artists were invited to develop new work that responds to the ensemble’s archive or invokes aspects of their ethos: longevity, memory, improvisation, ephemerality, silliness, and joy. This exhibition was an outgrowth of Learning Together: Art Education and Community.
